The Competition Bureau Canada’s Commissioner of Competition, Mr. Matthew Boswell, visited CCCS on 28 October 2024. During the visit, he had a bilateral meeting with CCCS Chief Executive Mr Alvin Koh where they discussed the latest developments in their respective agencies. Mr. Boswell also gave a talk on “Competition: A Driver for Productivity and Economic Growth” at the COPCOMER Regulators Tea. At the talk, Mr. Boswell explored how competition can unlock productivity and drive economic growth by fostering innovation, efficiency and economic dynamism. He also shared insights from the Canadian experience on how policymakers can harness the power of competition policy through stronger enforcement measures and fostering a pro-competitive regulatory environment to enhance productivity and drive economic growth.
