CCS attends 65th Antitrust Law Spring Meeting in Washington
Organised annually by the American Bar Association, the Antitrust Law Spring Meeting is the world’s largest meeting of competition and consumer protection professionals. From 29 – 31 March 2017, the 65th Spring Meeting brought different sectors of the global competition and consumer protection community together in Washington, DC to share knowledge about all aspects of competition and consumer protection law.
The U.S. Department of Justice kicked off the Spring Meeting with an Agency Update on the most current civil enforcement, cartel cases and policy initiatives. This was particularly interesting with the recent change in administration. The break-out sessions offered fresh perspectives into litigation issues for antitrust cases as well as antitrust developments in the pharmaceutical industry. The break-out sessions also included market players who offered their candid commercial viewpoints, and academia who explained the implications of the judgments.
The concluding highlight was the Enforcers Roundtable, which featured an in-depth conversation with leading competition authorities about their enforcement priorities as well as current investigations and cases that have made headlines around the world.
